Apparently this pastor feels that you cannot be a Christian and own an assault rifle? God and Guns - Reformed Journal: The Twelve
If that pastor ( or anyone else ) had a good understanding of the word "Democide" I hope she would have a different take on the subject of "forced to be defenseless". Democide is basically death by government and in nearly every case the subjects have been disarmed and had no choice in how their future would play out. Youtube has some good videos on the subject. The lesser of the evils is to back the 2A.
I'm afraid she wouldnt like our congregation either. I can't say that I agree with her opinion on gun ownership, that's for certain.
That author is- I'm sorry, - just another stupid, emotional woman using her position to try to advance her ideals.
# 1 do you really have a “assault rife”? # 2 yes you can be a Christian and have a semi automatic AR 15.
Its a shame she's using her position, pastor/in the church, to push her leftist agenda. Her "war" is a political war.
Her article states there are some 400 million guns in America. 1 for every man women and child plus another 67 million. How are guns the problem? I distinctly remember a hymn. Onward Christian soldiers..
I guess I'll just stay at my church. I'm on the (armed) security team tasked with protecting the flock. Hitting bad guys with hymnals doesn't seem to have the same effect.
Sigh. These activists masquerading as journalists or whoever are really working it from every angle now. As if a disarmed Christian is somehow a "better" Christian. Were all the disarmed Orthodox Christians in post-Romanov Russia better Christians as they were being marched off into forced labor camps? When they froze to death in Siberia were they praised as martyrs? All because their only crime was that they loved their Creator more than they loved The State? You have to wonder, how inherently good are the policies one side of the aisle is pushing, if in order to implement them they have to disarm the population first?
Huh? We encourage our members that are so inclined to carry in church. We decided as a group that we would defend our right to assemble & worship no matter the cost. Some things are non negotiable to my mind & others like me. The correct definition of an "assault rifle" is a rifle capable of fully automatic fire. I tell those that ask that I own a "DR Rifle". They ask what that means & the answer is defensive rifle. Usually they go away.
Actually an "assault rifle" is any rifle used to assault someone. A simple brick can be an "assault brick" if it's used to assault someone. Assault is a verb used to describe an action. The firearm on it's own is incapable of "assaulting" anyone or anything.
Assault Rifles have the ability to fire burst or full automatic. If it's a semi automatic only, then it's not an assault rifle. I see your point though, except it's not good to have people throw the assault rifle term around especially if they don't know what it really is.
