Farmer had a small one blow over into the field and were heading toward planting season. Only the main log was still useable but I would have cleared it even if none was good. Found a standing dead ash down in the woods and had to carry it out to the edge to load but it made the trip more worthwhile. Log tongs helped.

That looks like very clean wood. Everything out here in the rain forest has moss growing on it.

I cut some ash yesterday that the ice storm put on a fence and gates. I hadn't cut any ash in a long long time. Now i see why everyone likes it so much. It cut like butter even with a non-optimal chain. And throwing 16" long basketball sized pieces was easy...seemed lighter than the red maple I've been in lately....definitely a lot lighter than any oak or hickory. Makes you feel strong!
