Ahh, what a great morning it was to get back to a little bit of cutting. Cool, crisp 17 degree morning with a light dusting of snow. Sun rising over the hills. Started the morning by tackling an oak that lost its crown in the last major ice storm. Finished up with that tree a took down a few small EAB ash that totaled a full ATV trailer load. Started a new hoard pile yesterday with some road scrounged stuff. All this will make it down the hill today. Can't load too much into the trailer at once so it's a slow process. A few trips should do it.
How do you like the trailer Woodsman ? I have been looking at something similar, and tossing around the idea of building one. Anything you would change about it?
Trailer is awesome. I definitely recommend spending the money on it if it’ll be used frequently. I’m on year three of hauling wood and lots of other stuff with it and only ever had one problem - the welds that attach the main arm to the axle broke. The company replaced it no questions asked and had the part to me in a couple days. It’s rated for 1400 lbs. Can’t say I’ve ever put that much in it but it’s definitely been loaded up heavy. A lot. I like that it’s tires are set out wider than the body of the trailer. Never had a tip over with it. Never had issues with it as far as going over rocks and up and down hills. That’s all we’ve got here. Hills, boulders, stones, ledge... Trailer goes over it all. I pull it behind a Farmall Cub, too.
Nice Adam! Mustve been nice and peaceful with the crisp air. Probably last cold day until the Fall. Low 20's down here in North Haven. Is that your 391? A member had inquired about one and i couldnt remember who else owned one.
Great morning to be in the woodlot. Warner—I have a trailer that I believe is very similar. It has a mesh screen on the bottom and if I changed anything it would be to make it solid. I put a piece of plywood in the bottom of mine. I also welded some vertical bars to the upper side rails to keep smaller wood from rolling out. The picture is before I added the vertical bars to the side rails but hopefully you can see how small stuff would tend to roll out between the bars. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
