Ticks start coming out just as soon as the snow cover is gone. Doesn't even have to be that warm (although we've had plenty of warm weather the last 10 days or so)

I was driving through town this morning and spotted a group of 3 teenagers in the rain, casting their lines into one of our local ponds. It was 50 degrees out as well, so really unpleasant fishing weather. Nothing I haven't done before though. It just put a smile on my face and gave me a little more hope for the future.

Maybe they were geocaching...seems unlikely they would be old school fishing in the rain...

It's possible, that's a pretty popular activity in my area... They could've been playing with Barbie dolls for all I care just as long as they weren't going after the rounds of Black Locust the city cut and tossed onto the riverbank nearby last year.... I've got to wait for a light traffic day to go retrieve them

There's a vaccine coming for Lyme disease, about to enter stage 2 clinical trials. Pfizer/Valneva.

If you have had Lyme, would the vaccine still be recommended?

In honor of my Dad's birthday today, as I have every year since he passed.

He would've been 77 today. I miss him a lot.

    Cheers Dad!

Thank you! It will be 4 years since the day in June. I at least had father's day dinner with him, pretty much right before he passed from ALS. He went quietly in his chair overnight in front of the jotul.

You can still get Lyme after you have had it. It’s not a virus. If you get bit by another carrier it transmits again. The vaccine has been in use several years for dogs with some success. Don’t know all the data but supposedly it is effective.

I had the most wonderful dream last night. I don't remember all of it but somehow Judy and I got separated. Then I waited for her someplace and I vividly recall her walking in and we embraced then kissed. Wow, it was so real. I woke up in a good mood for a change.
