Not sure what I like better.... The truck or the firewood. Not only are they bulletproof, you can get any parts you want for them easily. Awesome truck man!
You are right about the log. I recall sawing hundreds of logs about that size back in my younger days. I liked that size because they weren't so heavy as the big saw logs. We did not have hydraulics on our carriage so all rolling was done with a cant hook. I'd hate to have to do that today but still wish I could.
Nice load of oak, I'm in the same spot you are. I have way more wood then I need but still eyeing all these potential scrounges. My uncle had a huge oak come down in his pasture. I really don't have time to deal with any more though. I need to finish what I have here. That truck is sweet, if I didn't already have a UTV I would really be wanting one of those.
Can't beat a toyota !! Tough How many miles did it have when the motor had to be changed? Me and my cutting buddy both have toyotas and we get them into places you would never get any other to get wood. Judge my truck by my wood pile its big lol Im breaking in a new one now 60 plus loads hauled this year. I hope to hit 300,000.000 miles plus before this boy is done. Youtube kill a toyota
It had 235,000. I think it sat for a few years before I got it which is never good. It had had a very poorly done timing chain job at some point. The vacuum lines were miss connected in at least 5-6 spots when I bought it. The carb had then been heavily messed with to get it to run. I knew the engine was sick when I bought it. I bought it for the solid frame and good cab and it was $800.
The 250 is on the work bench in need of serious attention. It worked in my business for 4 years and got rode hard. It will be relegated to back up and has been replaced by the 241cm. The 250 has a 16" bar and got run as a limbing saw when I used it for cutting firewood. I don't run the 390 much anymore. It is a good saw and I gave it a muffler mod which woke it up but the 440 is more powerful and smoother running than the 390. The 440 cuts my firewood now with the 241 for limbing. I paid $450 for the 440 on CL. It came with a 20" bar and I got a 28" bar for it for bigger wood and that is the only time I bring the 390 so I don't have to swap bars on the 440.
FF, that's some primo wood right there...I love cutting and processing that wood. And it is really amazing how fast the tannins in oak react with iron and steel......pretty much turns blue in a matter of minutes!
I always said I would never shoot a Mathews, that was until I tested one out. Now I'm on board, ok now back to your regular scheduled wood hoarder programming
