    Evening Fellow Firewood Hoarders!

Got some cherry trees out of a fence row a few weeks back, and I processed them into some great rounds for firewood. All in all, it was a 3 hours chainsaw session with the 562XP , definitely my favorite chainsaw on the market! Next up, splitting this all with my maul. I love splitting cherry by hand!

Enjoy the video and stay safe as we cut, split, and stack away this spring!

    Have a good one everyone

Cherry is fine, equally suited for the stove as well as the smoker.

Every cherry I've gotten had the most twisted up awful grain. It made hand splitting terrible. Maybe a different species of cherry?

I feel like the poll is a loaded question  When I'm in the mood for it, cherry is kind of special. It's nice working outside in the cold, stove full of aromatic cherry burning, then going inside and warming up by the fire. But I wouldn't want to burn it all the time. There are other species that coal better, or produce more BTUs per cord. I do like to have some to burn every year though.

Just depends on the tree for me. These were decently straight making the split very enjoyable

I’ll be the odd man out here, I really do not care for the odor of cherry wood.

Nothing against it as firewood but im not that crazy for the smell either. The white oak i cut today i caught myself numerous times sniffing the rounds.

I will agree with you 100% on that one. Definetly the best smelling wood you can mess with in my opinion!

I felt like it was loaded too, because it may be my favorite wood to split by hand, but the bark tears up the hands/gloves and although I enjoy burning it, it isn’t my favorite to burn.
