I am a big fan of apple and cherry, they smell great when burning. I also really like sugar maple.

A signature is anything you want to display, with every post. You create it in your profile.

My signature contains a list of saws and other tools.

Here it's Apple, Cherry & Hickory. I like White Birch as well, but don't get much.

Sage pine. It's crap wood, but I have a lot, so I burn it in the firepit, and have always enjoyed the smell of it.

Apple is the best smelling while burning. Apple and honey locust smell great splitting it.

But American elm is a great smelling wood when burnt.

I've never had it to burn since I grew up but recall the few times my father had some and lit the fireplace growing up, they are Apple and Aspen. (I've learned here that what sometimes is called Aspen out east is not the same tree as here, aspen here has white bark, only grows in high altitudes).

I had some sugar maple a little too close outside the hot stove and didn't realize it. My wife came down and thought I was baking something delicious. It smelled really, really good, like maple candy.
