I bought this at a fair price and don’t doubt I could sell it and get all my money back, maybe even make a little. But making money is not the goal. Getting work done with them is. You may be off a little in the timing though. If I go to a cab it might as well get done before it gets cold out again!

I had an M5040 for 2,000+ hours, trouble-free. It was a nimble tractor, and the M series is quite a bit beefier than the L. I’ll be interested to see how you like the hoe.

 

Well I think you need to find a small excavator use that for a summer and list it here on FHC first

 

I dug a ditch about 50 long the other day. Hoe seemed to do okay but I have not dug any stumps out yet. That, and digging and moving large rocks, will test its strength. The speed of the hoe is okay. But not as fast as the TLB series hoes. I’ll have to see if there is a way to adjust. I know you can adjust swing speed on it. So I opened that all the way. But I’m wondering if there is a valve to increase speed of hoe boom, stick and bucket. I guess that would just be increased hydraulic pressure. But I’m know tractor expert.(This is with RPMs at 2100.)

 

I know when I get the tractor I’m going to keep for a LONG time it will be a hydrostatic transmission and have a cab with heat and air.

 

I have seriously considered that several times. Tough to mow grass and brush with them though. And they aren’t much better at York rakin either.

They are Scotty Overkill money expensive and I’d have to have a cheap tractor for 3-point stuff.

 

So......... are you going to hire out that back hoe on FHC classified?
