Out at the homestead it will be white spruce. Similar temp outdoors. That wood I got last week burn Really well. For bone dry white spruce.
It's 28 degrees tonight with a load of sugar maple, red maple, one split of beech and the top row all cherry.
My low last night was 10. It is not supposed to get that cold tonight. I'll be lighting the fire from the coals in about 5 hours when I get home.
Cool, damp 51° outside, 65° inside when I came home. Built a small fire, take the chill off for my hunny.
A wet, foggy 37 outside and 70 inside burning walnut and oak. Split and stacked the last of my mill ends yesterday before the rain. About 1/2 a face cord. Should get us through the rest of burning season no problem.
Temp dropped only to 24. They say 50 today followed by a couple cooler days then so 60+ degree days next week.
Supposed to get windy here. 35 looks like our low overnight. Whoops, it just dropped to 34. I started a fire in stove before the wind comes up.
They're calling for a low of 9 tonight, I'll put beech, sugar maple and some ironwood in for the overnight load.
28 here, no fire. We are in the process of moving and the area around the hearth is getting full of boxes and furniture awaiting the move further north. It will be the oil fired FHA later this morning when the family awakens.
Almost spring! 10 F here. A mix of Cherry and Beech in the Wood Gun this morning. You hoarders have a safe and fun day!
An extremely mild winter here. And so far, a very early spring. There are bare spots on the ground already! The ditches (ROW) along the highway are very clear of snow on the north side of the roads. The snow is just about melted off of our roof. 15 right now with a sky full of stars.
