Been a long week, but the weekend isn't far off.

Lots to do this weekend. Hoping to get the bedroom paint done and get a few walnut logs milled.

With the past 3+ days of temperatures in the 60s, I noticed quite a few trees in the more urban areas starting to bud already... Chill out guys, it's not even April yet! Big cool down to reality only hours away.

I've got to tell you, for a town with the right name it sure is a disappointment. Try as I might on quite a few street views, not a single locust was spotted. None at the local Bojangle's. Couldn't find the Waffle House I'm assuming is there but I doubt they have locust either. None on locust street itself. Even maple street is void of any. Not even at the town hall! Maybe it's named for the overgrown grasshopper???? I thought I found a place to retire to eventually. Guess I'll keep looking :)

Looking at the picture at the top that pops up, all I could think was, "There is no place to shovel or blow the snow." Guess you know what my mind is conditioned to look for :D

Another windy day today. Some good gust will keep me out of the woods today. I heard a crash out back about 3:30 this morning

Our snow cover has melted and ground is firming up nicely. I haven't seen a tick yet, but it is nearly time.

Anyone know of a good, cheap, 2D program for me to draw a site plan for my property? Not looking for a landscaping tool, but something that can be presented to the town as a scaled drawing for a build permit (and hand drawn just isn't within my capabilities even with a ruler :emb:). I've looked at DesignCAD 2D, Turbo CAD and QCAD. I do like the compatibility and flexibility of DesignCAD 2D, but does anyone know about the usability?

I taught myself AutoCAD in the late 90's and used it sporadically for work until 2014, but not since (and don't have access any more). So am looking for something similar so the learning curve isn't to steep.

Super windy. I still have snow cover but not much, except for the berms which look like they won't ever go away. The weather station says it was 38* earlier (most likely at midnight but it also snowed sometime before 3:30 this morning. Currently 25* - may make it back into the mid 30's.

I think Acad offers a free trial download.

If you can skecth the info needed (lot size, house/outbuildings, patios, walks, etc) I can draw it in acad and send you a pdf.

Did you end up going to Colorado this week? Are you there now? How is the weather?

I didn't because of what was suppose to be 18 to 24 inches of snow.

Doesn't sound like they are getting anything near that though.

Oh well, just means I'll head to Menards today. I think detergent is on sale. :)

Probably a wise decision as you may have ended up driving through it somewhere along the way or way back.

Don't get the kind of detergent you have to eat....get the kind you can drink! :wacky::wacky::wacky:

Going to try to enjoy another beautiful sunny day with 50 degrees this afternoon. It might be quite a while before we see 50 again after today.
