Been reorganizing woodshed now that winter quickly ending here on Long Island. Have 1/2 cord left to burn. Should be more than enough. in the meantime I have been organizing my shed to be ready for next winter through first half of 2024. Moved all the seasoned wood out to create room. Some pics below of wood being added. Have near 2 cords on left side of shed ready for next winter and a half? Beech and maple with 3 similar rows of oak, cherry and hickory behind. Once that’s done I will begin to burn the wood on the right side by 2023. 2 solid rows of red oak already css this winter and in front will be 2 rows of ash, cherry and maple. Entire shed will be full to capacity by April. Then I can sit back and relax.
Added 3/4 row of cherry sugar maple mix. Almost there. White oak and ash will round out the last row in a week or two
Looking real good there Stoveshamster ! Glad to see your 3 yr. plan getting done. I mark my stacks with a black sharpie just like you do. Winter still hanging on good here in NH, still plenty ice on the lakes for shacks and sleds when we get some more white gold.
Added rack to begin 8th and last row (4 on each side) Mostly beech. Another 200 or so pieces left to add and Shed will be fully stacked to capacity. Just about 4 cords. I burn about 1 3/4 cord a year so two and a half year plan. Now it’s just about time to sit back and admire it.
