Got word this PM that my sister in-law who has Alzheimer's has started in Hospice. It seems she has no bowel sounds. My brother in-law has decided not to pursue surgical treatment (after discussion with the doctor and his children). They had not be able to visit with her since last March except by distance and by virtual visits. There is active covid on the unit she is in at the nursing home. My brother has said that not being able to touch her for the past year has been a living hell for him. At this point, she doesn't know who anyone is. Talks in babble. We pray for peace.
Larry, it's so sad that your brother and his wife had to be apart the last year of her life. This virus has brought so much disconnection. I pray that she finds peace, and your brother can be consoled.
Please say a prayer for a friend of our family's little boy Jaxson. He was diagnosed with brain cancer when he was only 1 (he's 6 now). He underwent a long chemo treatment and had a great outcome. He's had a roller coaster ride of life these past few years and was doing pretty good but his cancer came back in 2020. Unfortunately he has taken a turn for the worse and things aren't looking good. His family could certainly use the prayers.
