Great to hear, we had a couple of retired racers years ago. They make great pets, I'd adopt another but they don't really match my lifestyle very well, I'm not sure I could trust a Grey off leash.
Bill looks like a kid waiting to go to the dentist. Nice pic. The look when Holly keeps finding buried shelled peanuts in the snow the squirrels hid away. She crunches the peanuts, drops it and picks the nuts out. Spying one of the triplets that were eating the neighbors hedges. One of the toe-grabber lurking while I eat breakfast.
Cute, kiddo is jumping on the trampoline with her belt holster and pop gun pistol, they are training our new dog. For now her favorite dog toys til she learns "drop it" better. He throws it in the air, kiddo fires the pistol, pup retrieves, NICE.
I am gushing over this, bet Horkn is too. I had 2, 1986 and another 1997, both reds. His was a red too I believe. Beautiful, gentle lil doggies! Brittany, Sophie, and Belle.
Yes, very special for sure. They take a lot of time and energy. Wouldn't trade that for the love they give.
Yes, tons of energy, but they typically have a switch. Off when inside, but full on outside. Some people assume since they are smaller in stature that they don't have the drive or don't need as much excercise. Pound for pound, I don't know of a dog breed that has more energy than them.
Energy for days. Bill is 37 lbs. Bandit is the liver, he is almost 50 lbs. Biggest brittany I have ever had.
Ok our new addition has to be in this thread. Our yet to be named puppy 8 weeks and 18 pounds 50% black English lab 37% Rottweiler and 13% British bull dog.. so a good mutt. I know all parents as got him from friend that had an oops litter; waiting for spay appointment. As we have Lady I was leaning toward Tramp but was told no!
Nice !! Nothing better than a puppy. Heck , we named our second one Zonk. The Mrs said I was crazy and told me that was the dumbest name ever , but I went with it. Now that he is just over two years his name is a perfect match for his personality. A great dog ( black lab ) but he is as dumb as a box of rocks and has not a clue that he is supposed to be a retriever ; runs around the yard without a clue as to where he is going and no idea what he is doing. A fantastic dog and just a big lap dog and a lover but a " Zonk" as far as the retriever part. Our 4 year old on the other hand is the complete opposite , all he cares about are his balls and toys. He will chase that stupid ball 24-7 and a true athlete. He is named Ca$h.My wife thought that was a stupid name as well. Sometimes you get the Cash and sometimes you get a Zonk , but both names fit their personalities just perfect Maybe Tramp would not be that bad , sometimes your first choice might be the best? Have fun with the pup!! Nothing better!!!
Keep us updated on this cutie's growth. Wonder what type of build he will have - although for sure will have a broad, deep chest. Take your time with the name. If they don't come with names, I like to let names come to me after I've observed them for a couple of days. Sometimes their names come from circumstances; I adopted Tory & Indy (Independence) on the 4th of July, my mother named a cat New (New Year's Day) and I eventually ended up with her. Funny thing was, she went thru so many "new"experiences; Started life in FL, moved to NM, moved to KS, moved to NH. Started life in quite houses, then crowded and hectic apartments, then an "in-process" build of a house. She also broke in several dogs (after not being around them her first 3 years.) All those new experiences were with either my Mom or me and she took them with aplomb..
He’s independent I suggested Tramp as we have lady.. No. I expect he will be shorter a bulky boy; but he’s very independent has learned stairs in hours. Lady is starting to accept him
