    Cable wins every time:picard:

I took a chance cuttin a little close to the cable. But who'da thought it would run down through the tree almost a foot. I've got some sharpening to do.

Send it to @Pallet Pete, I'm told he is a miracle healer.

Found a stump similar to that at my sis-in-law's. I keep finding pieces of old fencing over there too, and not just on the lines.
It might just stay where it is until it rots.
Pete can fix ya' right up, for sure.

Dang. I'm surprised you were able to finish the cut. I'm sure it will buff right out.

Pretty sure my saw would never get through that. Threw away more than one chain running into stuff like that - a 1/2" screw eye hook can wreck a chain but good.

Ouch. No doubt he already has a new chain after that one.

Oh that cable smoked the chain. Unfortunately i was WOT just cruisin through the oak when i hit it. Kind of went like this
:saw: :hair: :headbang: I really should've known better and cut slowly but after i looked the log over i thought the cable was anchored straight in (which is usually the case). I swapped the chain for a very well used, nice sharp chain and cut from the bottom up.

I once hit a piece of rebar that a tree had grown around. It's amazing how quickly a chain can go from perfectly usable to scrap metal.
