Worked in a woodlot just down the street with a number of dead ash trees and some buckthorn B184F8FB-7BA6-4551-BBB2-9C9CDA72A5F1.jpeg . Here are some pictures. Cut them to dump truck length and brought them here for processing. 2349B166-A4F3-44C2-970F-9B499000B8D5.jpeg

Yes! Actually have hit this woodlot a few times this week, time permitting. Quite a few dead ash, some pretty big. Snowing again now...

Love it. Very strong saw. I have had it for about 2-3 years and it has been great. It is a little heavier than some 60cc saws, but it is powerful and runs a 27" bar without trouble. I usually run an 18 as i don't cut that many large trees.

I’m sure thinking of getting one. That’s some nice wood you harvested.

I'm a Stihl guy, & I can recommend those Echo's without hesitation. That Ash is some nice looking stuff.

I'm glad some folks are still able to get ash. I think we are done with it here.

You were ground zero for the borer? We got it here maybe 10-15 years ago, although these trees do not appear to have been dead that long.

There are a few more good ones to get, but several are close to the road and leaning that way too. Those I will leave. I hope to get a few more. Neighbor split a bunch of it yesterday. We work together on hoarding.

Good luck with your ash score. Sad to see it dead, but it is good firewood.

If my memory still works I believe we found the first damage in 2002 or 2003.

Hello all, newbie here. You are correct on the Ash. I have some land in northern MI and the good Ash firewood is getting to be slim pickins. Still have quite a bit off the ground. Also, don't know if you have noticed, but it appears some of the Ash is trying to make a comeback.

Welcome Jim. We do have some ash the borers didn't hit. I have no idea why they got missed but am happy they did.

btw Jim, we are planning a get-together April 30 - May 1 and you are welcome to come. We have guys and gals who come from all over for this. The furthest they have come has been from NH, MA, GA, KS and even Australia. A good time is had by all and we cut some wood too. Watch for a formal invitation which will come soon.
