We load 8-9 cord to the basement every late September early October. That is the years worth of wood. Boiler heating house and garage and hot water. We have enough room to do that though, just one small storage room down there.

I stuff three basements full every year. Mine, mom and my sisters. If the wood is nice and dry there doesn’t seem to be a bug problem. Years past when I may have tossed in wetter wood there could be bugs aboard.

That is a lot of stuffing and tossing. I too have noticed with dry wood no bug problem.

The women help. Maybe a more accurate statement would be I have experience with stuffing 3 basements full :)
Dry wood seems to be key tho. Usually tail end of August into Sept we have a good dry spell here in Ct. Historically that’s the time too stuff. Rubber roofing and a garage for short term storage on the yard truck and a trailer helps now also.

No basement here. I keep 2-3 days worth by the stove, and the year's supply is in the woodshed, about 20 feet from the door.

I carry in a day's supply most evenings, in one of those canvas firewood totes, to restock inside.

    Sorry, no pics.

Full cord stacked on the front deck. Two days worth in rack near woodstove.

Keep about 3-5 days worth next to the stove, about 2 weeks worth on the deck 5 feet from the slider door and the rest is in yard about 50 feet away.

Keep more than a full winters worth in woodshed attached to garage, which is attached to the house. Shed holds about 7 cords. Move wood in the late fall into the woodshed, then throughout the winter carry wood across 3 stall garage to the house every couple days. 2 of the blue IKEA bags will hold a couple days worth of splits beside the stove. No outside hauling all winter!
Usually a cord or two left in the spring - depending on heating season... use this and restock in the fall
