Well for those of you that have followed my trials and tribulations here is whats new. I have been steadily building my wood supply. Have about 7-8 cords of wood some that has been css for 2 years, and have been shopping around for inserts/freestanding stoves.

Dragged my feet and still don't have a stove. Was pretty set on getting the Osburn 2400 insert here in the next month. Unfortunately I do not think I will be getting one this year either. My wife and I found out that she has some fertility problems so looks like the money saved for the stove will be going towards IVF. I'm bummed out obviously about the problems we are going through but also bummed about not getting a stove for yet another year. But I will just keep on stacking and building up my wood supply. If I get to 15 cords or so people will really think I'm crazy if I still do not have a stove ha!

Sad news but I have a feeling you'll get things together very soon. Good luck.

I'm sorry about your news, but also glad you had some money set aside to help with the medical news you got this year. Things happen for a reason, you might just find Karma working out in your favor without you even seeing it.

I have fertility problems. Miracle baby born after 18 years of marriage... But wow the years prior were heart-wrenching. Send me pm if your wife wants to talk with someone thats been through the same heartache.

Don't worry about the stove for now, you have bigger fish to fry.

    hugs to you and her

Hey, there'll be plenty of time down the road for a woodstove, and your wood burning family will be here for you and support both you and your wife during your fertility trials and tribulations. My brother and his wife are also in that situation.....so keep your head up and look to the Big Man for guidance. My prayers to you and your wife my friend!

Keep your faith up and keep your spirits up. Everything happens for a reason, we as humans can't understand it all the time.

My wife's parents thought they were infertile after four years of marriage so they adopted. They became pregnant six months later and had three children of their own within the next several years.

You'll get more joy out of your children then you'll ever get out of a wood stove. You're keeping your priorities straight.

Check into personal loans for the IVF treatment.... low interest rates out there now. Also look into what is/isn't covered by any insurance you have... most check-ups and consults are covered, some initial medicine may be covered as well.
As others said, the stove can wait. Used stoves and chimneys are always an option if you're in a pinch. Best of luck to you and your wife!

There are lots of children who need your love whose parents had no intention of having them. Worth a consideration?
Keep those stacks piled! When you get your stove, your wood will be perfect!!:)

Thats definitely an option we have discussed. Lots of serious conversations and decisions are in the future. Yea I recently saw a tree back in my woods that is now destined for the woodpile. Never ends stove or not lol.

Okay... I might be the only one who thinks this but there might be more natural ways to solve your issues that INCLUDE a stove. I say get the stove, keep stuffing wood in it all winter, keep the wifey warm and you just might end up with a pregnant bride by the end of the winter!! Best of luck!!

Most states and insurance DO NOT cover fertility treatments. I actually found some resources for states/employers that will cover IVF and other stuff. Most are on the east coast, where alot of you are too. Anyone pls PM if you want links to these sites.

Prayers sent from me as well. Your doing it right though. Keep cutting away........ most buy the stove first, then wood and have problems. Also, if you keep cutting and really really get ahead, you could always sell a few cords to help absorb the high cost of a stove/chimney/liner etc. Good luck!
