I would have, but my instinct to cuss/smash on sight was so strong/fast I didn't have time to do it...I did look for remains to cremate, but my work boot was very effective at turning him into a wet spot on the floor!

I gave myself a bad splinter in my palm the other day from loading a split into the stove. I'm not left handed or really ambidextrous, so it was a bit more difficult than it could have been to remove. The first thing I thought of was it was a bee/ wasp sting. Nope.

I hate drum brakes, I hate working on drum brakes, and I really hate working on drum brakes outside on cold days.

Dad's girlfriends son had a noise coming from his rear brakes, and yesterday he was off. Went to a quick lube place that said they'd check them for free, they just shook the wheel apparently and never removed anything. Then, while I was trying to spend time with dad, he kept texting him and calling him asking for phone numbers to garages and the managers names. But when dad asked him what he's doing if he needs brakes, he says no money and he can't use his credit card. So why bother even checking them.

after so long I lost my patience and told dad to tell him to come here and I'll check them. Turned out he had a pin come undone due to rust damage on the retaining thingamajig. so the shoe was rubbing against the side of the drum. What a load of brake dust fell out. Never had time to do the other springs and everything before dark but they were still in decent shape so just replaced the pin and it's spring on both shoes, both sides.

he paid for a hardware kit, WD-40, and then took us out for Chinese food with the money he never had. Well, I guess that was a fair trade.

He helped out a little, including putting his wheel chocks under the wheels....in front of the wheels, with the car facing up the slight incline. :heidi:

I was at pulmonary therapy at the hospital today, when a call came in from their covid immunization crew. They had three unclaimed doses of vaccine and was looking for eligible arms so the vaccine would not be wasted. There were three of us there who quickly spoke up and were able to get vaccine. I am very pleased that I was, for once, in the right place at the right time. I got the Phizer vaccine.

Wow, that is having it bad. They told us to go to the hospital if our oxygen levels went below 95. Hope you’ve made a full recovery.

I got my first dose of the Moderna vax today. It was drive-up in the high school parking lot, run by the national guard. Pretty efficient setup. The shot itself is pretty much painless. 4 hours later, I don't feel any different.
