Ethan is organizing another race chain competition. It’s pretty much for bragging rights. Each entry last time added a few bucks to make it interesting, winner gets the spoils.

    2021 chain build-off

If you need any more info just ask. It’s tentatively scheduled for March sometime.

Here’s where I’m at for my entry.

This is all for fun so I don’t mind sharing my pics. It does get secretive for those more intensely into the sport

    Here’s last years vid:

Probably just bevel the tops of the straps a little. Doubtful on the rivets. Maybe a tiny bit. Big powa doesn’t really care about all that, lol. Apparently the chain that won last year had no chassis work.
Edit: my chains were I and G. Best finish was 3rd place.

I am still thinking about it. I do not know if I will do one this time. Although it was fun and I have more ideas to try out.
I know your chains will right there.

Don’t do it Brad! There are some serious pro’s that send chains. I’m just a firewood hack, that has fun with a file!

Yep Jason has it . There is some serious time that goes into the chains and this time it is 72 drive links if I am not mistaken. That is a lot of work.
    Although it is fun.

If square file enters I will put my money on him.

Lol, I’d say you have to use safety chain but some of us know that’s not an issue.

I'll just watch and dream about filing chains that can play at that level.

Which brings up this question...is there such a thing as semi chisel square grind or does that defeat the purpose?

Whole new chain class right there. .404 semi chisel square filed race chain on a cart motor saw. 105cc minimum displacement. Last chain still throwing chips wins. Line em up boys, I've got plenty of cable skidded hardwood to destroy your chains.
EDIT: We can do a yard tree competition too, thickest bird feeder eyebolt cut through is the winner.
