    Grace Moments

    The tale of two women
    by Pastor Mike Novotny

“Pastor, I just need a little break,” the college student told me. After two decades of going to church, she felt spiritually prepared to make church an occasional stop instead of a weekly habit. After all, she knew the stories, the lessons, and the big ideas of her sin and Jesus’ salvation.

Contrast that with the 91-year-old woman I visited the other day. When I stepped into Jeanette’s room at the nursing home, I saw the brightly colored Grace Moments book next to her bed, which she reads daily. Jeanette told me of her desire to get back to church and of her mission work to the nursing home staff (many of whom showed up for worship even before Jeanette was able to return!).

Jeanette reminds me of Jesus. At 12 years old, Jesus was in the temple, digging into the Word of God. At 30 years old, Jesus was at the temple, celebrating God’s love at the Passover feast. At 33, Jesus went to the temple to become the perfect Passover Lamb and take away our sins. In other words, Jesus never took a break. Instead, like Jeanette, he sought God each day. He felt the temptation that college student was facing yet did not give in to it. “We do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin” (Hebrews 4:15). Thank God for Jesus!

We thought we thaw a thaw but think the thaw went through, without thoroughly thawing anything in need of thermal therapy. So we thrash through the thick, thoughtless Arctic thrust and thread through and thrive in, it’s thrill and hope that we thee a thaw thoon. Down and out here. Worst I’ve felt in a very long time. 2nd Moderna shot yesterday morning made my body freak out about 13 hours later. Running on about two hours of sleep and still can’t get to sleep. Wife keeping the fire going.

Yeah, that's the worst. Giving yourself your own "snow facial" you really need to pay attention to the wind. Also the remote chute height and quick chute rotation controls are key. You could get a cab though too, but those are not always easy to work with, especially for storage.

Been snowing lightly since 4am. 1-2” by 8 tonight. Just enough to be a pain on the roads. They closed schools and my son told me roads were bad this morning. We can expect this every few days for week or ten days.

We haven't had the storms you guys have had but it has been those daily, light snow falls that we have been getting. Probably about a foot on the ground.
