We actually went with the color scheme in my avatar for the production unit. The Beta unit colors were too light in actual use and showed a lot of dust and dirt.

 

People who were looking for a "basic black box" stove should like the one they shipped today. No frills, no designs, no extra colors, plain sides and top, just a basic stove (with soapstone liner):

 

I know time is getting close and the stove will be in the dining room before I know it.
Looking at the basic IS, it's still a pretty good looking stove.
BK, did you design something personal for your side and top plates? or go with something on
the design page? Colors, what did you choose??

 

We stayed with the Fleur de lis design, as that was my daughter's creation and one of the first customer designs Woodstock featured. (Apparently its also a popular design among Ideal Steel stove orders.)

Somewhere on this forum I mentioned the color combo I would want in a production model, and low and behold, that combo appeared on Woodstock's homepage with our Fleur de lis design:

So I just told Lorin, "Make me one just like the one on the right on your home page."

 

That stove rocks I would love to get one but its probably to big for my house

I have the Olso on the porch right now being worked on, getting it ready for sale. When folks come by and spend time on the porch and see the stove taken apart they ask whats going on. "I'm selling it", I tell them....WHAT? they say. haha too funny.
They know I'm a nut when it comes to heating with wood. I'm going hybrid and a bigger firebox I tell them.
Should be interesting when folks come over when the new stove is installed and see whats going on inside.

Since the stove is located in the corner of the dining room, it's funny how friends migrate from the living room to the dining room table to socialize. They just pull up a chair and move their drinks to the table and enjoy the feel.

We just picked up a pair or Roll of Kari organ dollies off EBay so we're ready to roll. That's what we use to move these stoves. We used to rent a pair at a local tool rental but they went out of business. Since we are also expecting a Beta Franklin Steel stove this fall I figured I better start scouring the Internet for a used pair and after four months of searching found an old pair up in Erie.

Just waiting on a shipping date....

 

BK, firstly....how are you feeling? I'm sorry about what happened to you. I hope things get better from here.
Secondly, a question about the franklin. It's a smaller stove, will it deliver enough heat to keep you guys comfortable? The IS is in a league just above it and you heated with it last year, just a thought.

 

Feeling Ok, thanks. My wife has been having some serious health issues, I'm working two jobs right now, gave a brief talk at a conference in DC last Friday (I get really stressed with public speaking), I'm taking over as chairman of a national pro-life group tomorrow, and I guess the stress finally got to me and caused a benign heart arrhythmia. (I get the visual migraines occasionally now but the real painful migraines stopped last year when I started taking magnesium supplements.) I'm taking time off for R&R this week and trying not to worry so much. "Worry is wicked!" as one of my elderly patients used to say.

Our Fireview had a 2.2 cu ft firebox, the Ideal Steel was 3.2, and the Franklin is 2.6. Honestly the Fireview was marginal in this old drafty house but I suspect the Franklin will be adequate. The Ideal Steel isn't quite overkill here, but we didn't have to push it at all hard to keep this place warm last year.

 

Just got an email from Lorin @ Woodstock. She said they'd have our unit done and shipping info early next week.
