During the overnight hours, I could hear the blower motor on the furnace running for longer than normal lengths of time. Checked the temp this morning and no wonder....it's -49 (wind chill included) outside!

Got lots of deer right now. It is cold but sunny so maybe on the ridge they get some extra warmth.

I thought that debate over wood stoves in ice shacks was put to an end a year ago and here we go. He’s probably hanging out with dumf now so no worries.

You know taxes will come due, and your neighbor doesn't sound like someone who can save money. I would look for the house to go up for sale within a few years at most.

Not sure if I posted this last week. I picked up a cabinet on FB marketplace a few towns over. I just wanted to use the bottom half to store kitchen items. Once I got it home, I looked it over and it appears to be from the mid 1800's. It is a primitive item and should not be cut down. Built with square nails and dovetail drawers. The doors are wooden pegged. It has some age to it. It needs some tightening up and I'll do that in the spring.

This weekend, I was able to finish up the kitchen table made from an old 1800's door and used barn boards that replaced the raised panels. We have a regular dining room table, but we spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

The cupboard may go next to this table.

Spent a bit of time in the attic this morning framing a wall, but it was a bit cold up there. Watching the snow fall now and feet up.

I can only hope. I think that the more likely situation is that he gets into even more trouble with the law and will be incarcerated. Then same deal...

Spend some time on saw maintenance and replenished the wood for the fireplace. Pretty darn cold out, but no wind and sunshine. No trouble at all when one is active.

came in to find DISH. Network is having issues with our local channels on Super Bowl day. I foresee a lot of lost customers come Monday

It's not just DISH. Several cable and streaming platforms are having contract issues with CBS. Good thing it's on antenna tv. Easy solution, but I agree, for what they all charge, it better be on the pay cable/ dish.

Another 6 inches on the ground today here at my house. I just got done clearing the driveway, sidewalks, paths in the backyard to the chicken coop, woodpiles and shed. I’m glad I made room yesterday because it’s really starting to pile up now. Oh, more snow in the forecast for Tuesday I see! And snow showers the rest of the week too! AND... below freezing temperatures for the foreseeable future! So no melting! This is the winter I remember from my childhood. I told my kids that last night when I took them sledding, which was a blast for all (minus the sore tailbone all day today)

I'll bet you do wonderful things with that old piece!

That door table is pretty cool.
