    Verse of the Day
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Caffeine in at 6 and now I’m sitting down for my second dose of it. I just finished tearing out an old faucet in the upstairs bathroom and installing a new one. Always fun crawling around and laying on your back up under a sink!:picard:Done and done!

I build my home in the woods with no neighbors in sight. Last thing I need is some A hole tripping me off. I mind my business and expect others to do the same.

I'm pretty sure you can't arrest someone for name calling. It's best to ignore these weirdo's. If you yell back at them that puts you on the top of their list, if you completely ignore them yelling at you you're still on their list just not at the top.

This reminds me of the difference between good neighbors/people and pain in the azz neighbors/people. My Father and Mother had many good neighbors. Growing up in a small city of about 11,000 at that time, we enjoyed visiting with the neighbors sometimes and sometimes we kept to ourselves. But one neighbor across the street use to visit more often with us than others. Great people, he and his wife and kids. He would come over and borrow tools that my father had and he didn’t at the time and vice versa. They would kid around with each other and make all us kids laugh often. One time my father returned a long drill bit he had borrowed from him with a band aide wrapped around it where he had snapped it in two. Good times!

Neighbors can be a good thing. Or not. I really enjoy living in the country. Where my neighbors are down the road a ways. We mostly all stick to ourselves but are here to help each other out when and if needed. Occasionally enjoying a visit and/or a cold beer.

I found this on line, it is worth reading , somethings worth adopting. Not so sure about the turn the other cheek attitude.
I asked a friend who has crossed 70 & is heading towards 80 what sort of changes he is feeling in himself? He sent me the following:
1 After loving my parents, my siblings, my spouse, my children and my friends, I have now started loving myself.
2 I have realized that I am not “Atlas”. The world does not rest on my shoulders.
3 I have stopped bargaining with vegetable & fruit vendors. A few pennies more is not going to break me, but it might help the poor fellow save for his daughter’s school fees.
4 I leave my waitress a big tip. The extra money might bring a smile to her face. She is toiling much harder for a living than I am.
5 I stopped telling the elderly that they've already narrated that story many times. The story makes them walk down memory lane & relive their past.
6 I have learned not to correct people even when I know they are wrong. The onus of making everyone perfect is not on me. Peace is more precious than perfection.
7 I give compliments freely & generously. Compliments are a mood enhancer not only for the recipient, but also for me. And a small tip for the recipient of a compliment, never, NEVER turn it down, just say "Thank You.”
8 I have learned not to bother about a crease or a spot on my shirt. Personality speaks louder than appearances.
9 I walk away from people who don't value me. They might not know my worth, but I do.
10 I remain cool when someone plays dirty to outrun me in the rat race. I am not a rat & neither am I in any race.
11 I am learning not to be embarrassed by my emotions. It’s my emotions that make me human.
12 I have learned that it's better to drop the ego than to break a relationship. My ego will keep me aloof, whereas with relationships, I will never be alone.
13 I have learned to live each day as if it's the last. After all, it might be the last.
14 I am doing what makes me happy. I am responsible for my happiness, and I owe it to myself. Happiness is a choice. You can be happy at any time, just choose to be!
I decided to share this for all my friends. Why do we have to wait to be 60 or 70 or 80, why can't we practice this at any stage and age?

    I'd prefer that. Trust me.

Most of our neighbors are really really nice, and none of our houses are on top of each other. We have several hundred feet between the closest home, and many trees. We all have acre lots. So it's very widely spaced country burbs.

A different neighbor snowshoed across the ROW with his dog TJ after the 12" snow storm. We waived at each other. The other direct neighbors are really quiet, but are nice when we both happen to be outside. They've called the cops on this same a hole when he stole from cars parked at their house for a party when their daughters graduated.

Honestly, we were hoping that when the weird mom passed, that the house would go up for sale, and literally anyone else would have been an improvement. Unfortunately that didn't happen.

As weird as his mom was, the cops were at least able to get through to her to mind her own business. I suppose jail time for aggravated assault will do that. ;)
You really need to go out of your way to bother anyone around here. Our neighbor that we are watching the dog a few times a week has the most possibility of contact for to how close their driveways are. Going back to taking the quickest shortest path through our yard will also keep as much distance from the problem child.

Yes, it's called disorderly conduct, at least. This guy's on the police's list already, if you read my other post about him.

I'll agree with you about ignoring them, but this guy will find someone else to be on his list. Regardless, this guy will go off on others. I just hope it's not my family or anyone I know.

Trust me, this guy is a ticking time bomb.

Time to get warmed up a bit in the boiler room after some outside chores. Cleaned and organized garage this afternoon as well.

And a homemade Lasagna and tossed salad dinner will be enjoyed with family in about 35-45 minutes. So I will enjoy one of these beforehand.

I will. Packing heat and packing down that path to our nice neighbor's house now. :salute:

I might have to ask the friendly neighborhood deer of I can do this though. They are camping out in the tree line.

Ripped maybe half? Of these today, the rest were already the right width. Ran out of daylight and my hand said enough around the same time. Still have 31 full planks left to rip, and then a few short pieces. Then I'll be caught up till I get more pallets.

It'll be easier to do it a few pallets at a time rather than this big load.

Do you feed the deer any table scraps. I took out some old potatos today. Maybe a bad idea.
