Picked up small sled to try as a wood hauler. My brother fabricated the towbar. It will also be used for hiking into the cabin when the driveway isn't plowed.

Should be handy. The snow never sticks around here long enough anymore to use a sled.

That gets the job done. Many years good luck with it.

Any thoughts to put lash points on the sled? 2-3 on each rail.

That's pretty much what I use when there's more than 2" of snow on the ground. ATV and the jet sled and I can haul a lot of wood, in a little bit of time. The sled packs the trails down when there's weight in it.

I use a 10 cubic foot agrifab trailer the rest of the time when there's no or little snow.

    Very nice.
I was thinking about a sled while I was digging my cart out the other day.

Yep. They work great. I like the tongue mount. That'll save me some horsepower.:salute:

    PS. It's deer blood.

Those sleds are used extensively here, they are priced well and beloved. It should serve you well.

Thanks for the clarification. That's good news it wasn't yours;)

And yes, the rigid hitch is key. I tried it once without the hitch behind the atv on the bigger sled. Results from that day.... IMG_20160123_142858618.jpg it was fine until there was a down hill section

    Here's with the rigid hitch.

I've got a little smaller one just like yours with the rope for at home use.

The other day I dumped a sled full of fishing gear including the bait when the wind blew the sled to the side and the rope caught a tire lug and warapped around the axle. Ridged mount is a must!

one other thing is to try to avoid dragging on pavement especially loaded. Maybe that’s obvious...They do sell a runner kit but you have to drill holes to mount them. For me that wouldn’t work I want the gear to stay dry.

I know it was a bad idea I have seen it many times but my buddy insisted it would be fine. Sometimes you gotta let people see for themselves.

my bait and gear was in a sled rigid mounted to another wheeler;)

Tried that with a snowmobile and a sled towed with a rope years ago , let me tell you the end result was not good.
Talk about learning the hard way.

    Rigid mount = good
    Rope = bad

Yup you could do that and hope it don’t leak over time.
