With the 12"+ of snow we had overnight and the warming above freezing temps today the snow on our feeder caused it to list quite a bit. It was rather entertaining watching the birds land (or try to land) on it!
Is that snow on the feeder pointing to your black locust hoard ? I would imagine where you are located that you get quite q few wild birds and a pretty good variety of species. They are fun to watch.
Put some seed in that thing to counter-balance it a bit. The birds will appreciate that and they need it after the heavy snow.
There is a good assortment. And none of the annoying invasive species...English sparrows or starlings. We have plenty of wild turkeys and have seen them around the woods but never at the feeder. Same thing with pileated woodpeckers. See and hear them but never at the suet.
The feeder was emptying and i had filled it with the last of the feed the day before the storm and it didnt top it off. With the storm Monday into yesterday we hadnt ventured out. I fill it usually every three days. Going to feed store later. The snow fell off shortly after i took the pics
The snow fell off the baffle before it did the feeder. One of the big wind storms a few months back knocked the feeder off the hook and blew the baffle up and over the pole.
