I was beginning to think that some of those scrounge stories were just a little too good to be true. You know, the ones where the wood is already bucked up and loaded by someone else for you? Embellishment written all over 'em, no?
Well, it happened to me yesterday! Pulled into work a bit early and there was a tree service knocking down some elm. After the preliminary hi how ya doing whats happening to the wood conversation, The tree service took my cell # and said if the wood is still here on Tue. a.m. it's yours. So after work today, I loaded up two f-150 loads of the free stuff. Bad part is, I had to drive across the parking lot at work to the job site!! (about 70')
Good thing, full cords are going for $95-115 in log form right now-if you can find it!

All the way across the parking lot, eh?
However did you manage? :rofl:

Thats sweet! I was just down by my wood piles thinking there is absolutely no way I can bring any more wood home right now. I have a huge pile of logs waiting to be processed and two big piles of splits waiting to go into the shed after I move the pallet racks back in.

Nice find. It's about time this happened in your favor and may there be many more easy ones for ya. I had about 10 cords of tree length white ash dropped in my yard and I'm still working on it (not to downplay your great score). My extreme luck was a once-in-a-lifetime thing, most certainly.
I hope your truck survived the trek (70') to get the elm.

Be sure to rotate your tires, check all fluid levels, have the trans serviced and last but not least.... Pics or it didn't happen.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to computers and pics and avatars and all that stuff. My daughter always helped me (read did it for me) to post pics and that stuff...now she has moved across country. Some day, I'll try to get an avatar instead of that damm "?" you see to the left; then, I should be able to graduate to pics...?
I really do exist, and am really from the U.P.

Great score. Nothing better than free, easy loading. I had a guy tell me that he had a big Black Locust taken down at a commercial building he has and I should get over there quick. By the time I got there it was gone. (3 Hours) Very disappointing. So get over there and get it quick!

You can drop any more wood at my house since I'm not in that situation and I would be glad to help you out. You know that's what friends are for ;)

Just be aware that help is available should you want it and then you can post pictures and an avatar.
