Ordered a new multimeter for using at work...went with a Klein since it had the features I need and was supposedly made in the USA...nope! As soon as it came I turn the package over and see the ole "made in china" at the bottom... :hair:
I think they ordered it from Amazon...if I had ordered it personally I think I'd pitch a fit with the seller (that listed it as USA made) and send it back...but I'm sure purchasing would not be pleased with me if I sent it back...since I'm the one that spec'd that model...:headbang:

We have a cold spell on the way starting tomorrow. Been lucky here that it has not been bad up to now.

Quiet work day. Got home early to split some rounds from the log yard pile. Nice blanket of snow. The woodshed is in need of refilling so ash and poplar are on the menu this weekend

While I was at work yesterday some salesman came knocking on my door offering my wife a free quote for siding and window replacement. She set up an appointment with him, then told me about it of course. Great.... I get home and tell her he probably wants a minimum of 35k to do just the siding, never mind replacing any windows. She says no way! So this guy comes over this morning and does his spiel. I entertain him for a couple hours and pick out siding, shutters, a few replacement windows, new front door, he tallies it all up to the tune of $65,000. I'm just sitting there smiling as I peek at my wife whose jaw just about hit the table. He goes straight into his sweet 20% interest financing plan without skipping a beat... Yeah guy I'm running to the bank right now for you... After he leaves I tell my wife to never let another salesman anywhere near our house again. There's nothing wrong with our current siding, other than it being an ugly yellow. The windows aren't horrible, half of them are about 10 years old and the others although not perfect, aren't terribly drafty. They can be replaced in time. The front door is functional but not ideal because of the large windows in it that allow a clear view into the house. I'll gladly do all this work myself one piece at a time, thank you very much. Freaking people.

 yes, you would certainly be encountering some kick back from Purchasing since you spec'd that item. At least a razzing depending on your relationship with them.

Eric Schamell , I helped a guy install my replacement windows. After the first one, and seeing how simple it was, I realized just about anyone can do that.

I paid for the windows and a half day labor for him. He said window companies will charge a thousand bucks “a hole”. Likely buying the windows at contractor rate of under 200 per for the top brand.

upgrading to better windows if you do it yourself, is a never regret thing.

I’m on the mend, Gas. It is not as bad as I thought it would be. Just mostly tired at this stage. Thanks for asking.

I’ve done replacements on some of our windows and was happy with the outcome. Wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Just have to measure right.

I did a very strange thing recently and deleted both the YouTube and Google apps from my phone. No news. No politics. No BS. This forum is my only online activity where I interact with others now. Judging by my level of discomfort at being "disconnected" from that other reality, I'd say it was for the best. I'll try it for a while anyway. The world is going to do what it's going to do regardless of my opinion to any of it might be. Time to play Ostrich now :)
