For $1350 out the door i may take a ride up there. Im the loyal to a dealer type but ill save $150 or more if i only get one bar and chain. I still may do it as i have the info.

I'm thinking they probably sold the other two that they got last week, but the owner did tell me he was working to get more. I'm sure they would let you put your name on one coming in if they are currently out of stock though. They are a real nice small time handshake kind of dealer.

That was my thought. The 500i is over a pound lighter and 79.2cc vs 76.5. Whats a 460 worth with 20, 28 & 36 bars? Im saying $600-700 based on what ive seen.
It'd be a real nice step up based on what ive heard about the 500. Have you seen or cut with one Ron?

Not much use other than day one testing Brad. I'm comparing it to my 562XP that I sold which is 20cc smaller so not really a fair competition. I will say that the throttle response is UNREAL and the power feels endless. It can't be as big a difference for you though as you're not making as big of a cc jump. As far as selling yours, Covid has used pricing up on many things with the supply of new being shorter. I'm sure you could move it without issue for a fair price.

I sold my MS290 (56cc) and my little MS170 pretty quick this year. Seems to be a lot of 460's for sale.
Thats more than likely what ill end up doing. Most of my other saws were new and a couple close to it other than the old ones.

What I did was put the word out to a few friends that know a lot of folks. I got lucky as the first guy I texted, got back to me saying he'd take it for himself. If no one bit on it, my plan was to put it on CL.

Good point Ron. Couldn't Brad just buy a new powerhead and keep his bars? Or buy the new head with just a 20" so he had something to sell mounted on his 460.

    A 460 around here with only 1 b&c will get 700 easy.

Brads taking it to a new level with all new Light bars. A 28” Cannon Duralite Superbar would make a new 500 stand out from the rest.

When i bought the 460 powerhead it came with no bars and two 20" chains. Bought an Oregon 20" bar, a Stihl 28 B&C, and a Laser 36" B&C. Id keep the 28" and get new of the others. I like Chud's idea of the Cannon bar. Im not one for lightweight, but if im spending that much might as well make it a nice saw.
What does that Cannon bar weigh vs. a standard Stihl bar?

I don’t know the weight numbers, but a 36” standard es and 36” light es are worlds apart imo
I’ve never used a cannon bar. They look nice, but are extra expensive. My closet cannon dealer is an hour away.

Ive never owned or used a light weight bar. Since i bought the 170 last Spring (now sold) and the 201, i like the idea of lighter weight. The 500i is lighter by 1.25 lbs vs. my 460, lighter than a 441 and almost the same weight as a 462. All this talk makes me want THAT saw. :saw:

I gained a pound going from the 562 to the 500i. You wouldn't think you can feel such a small difference... but you can...
