I don’t want to spend your money for you or speak for your space but what about a temporary shelter to do the cutting and milling your own material under the cover for a wood structure?
Then you’ll have the materials to put up the permanent structure you cut from your mill. The temporary could then be repurposed elsewhere or could be dismantled and sold.
Just a thought - and not knowing space constraints this may not be practical.

That was / is another possibility and a thought I had. Might be a good option once the snow is gone and risk of a collapse is a lot less.
Thought that maybe when done I could use the carport for firewood storage
    Thanks.

We've had a shelterlogic for going on 10 years for misc. equipment storage (cover replaced 7 yrs. in - love UV deterioration) at my BIL's. It has held up to heavy snow and wind. It is sitting on a pad and is bolted down though. I would think that has kept it down in the wind. Keeping the snow off has helped I am sure.

I'll speak from experience in that lumber is expensive now. You'd think that with it being winter that the prices would've gone down, due to less demand, but that sure doesn't seem to be the case.

About 20 years ago my dad put up a metal carport with steel corrugated roof and sides with roll up metal garage doors on both ends for a 4+ place snowmobile ATV shed. It was exactly what Menard's uses for cart corrals, except with sides and the doors. That shed is solid. It's on the sand/ dirt ground with anchors for the support legs.

Maybe a post on each end and a long LVL beam to hold the roof up would work and make for easy log loading..

Here are pics of the run in shed under construction.
I like workin with the rough cut stuff.
The block walls are a stacked sloping retaining wall block.
It took some redneck engineering to work the framing on top of the stepped wall.

    Looks good.
I have to sit down and figure out cost for what I am looking to do. Haven't had time yet but hope to sit down over the weekend and crunch some numbers.

Shelter Logic is in Watertown Ct. and will build a enclosure the way you want it. Door on both ends, 3 different fabric weights for covers and you can pick up in Watertown to save on shipping. Not sure how far you are from Watertown CT. (Watertown is by Torrington)
