Wanted to mill a few long logs and didn't want to move the originals log dogs, so I made these out of some scraps laying around. Short one is 3/4" tall, tall one is about 4.5" tall.
There's a tongue twister, don't say that too fast. Lol So are those used on your mill to keep the boards from moving?
Was in Shade Gap Thursday and I stopped by Marty's PA Woodmizer. Picked up a couple of new and improved log clamps. Hope to get them on and run the mill some soon. Been busy with work and life in general. Hope all is well and keep healthy.
I never have that much time been busy also I was shut down all december I had gotten the virus so I am playing catch up yesterday sawed a customers pile of logs hickory, black birch nothing real big the biggest was 22" x 8 ft he wanted all live edge so it was easy sawing Hope all is well for you JB
Got to try out the new log clamps. Made a few Red Oak boards, was in the low 20's about all day and windy. The water lines kept freezing, have windshield washer fluid but was to onerey to go get it. Boy did that burn barrel feel good.
Nice boards Cold and windy here today I was in store until 3:00 and the stove was nice then I had to go look at some customers logs he wants to get sawed a couple of big red oak the thing he did not tell me was they were roadside trees and the metal detector lit up as soon as I got close to the trunks so that job was denied glad your new dogs worked out for you JB
Thanks JB Sawman, what type of metal detector do you have. I have a Tasoro Valcaro. Never used it much. Been lucky most everything comes off our property or in-laws farm and has been metal free.
I have the MDI handheld Model #2100 it was expensive but it has paid for itself already in blades I use it on customer logs and if they have metal I give them the option of me sawing anyway the 10 degree Bi metal blades I use are @45.00 each I use these because they last the longest in Black Locust I also use the vortex blades on wide stuff JB
