Second picture is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Wish I had the space to do that.

geez man , thanks for that ! That all got burnt this year so decided to rework the area. Looks like crap now but will get there before spring. I still have a lot of wood to process and more will be coming in.

Lots of hard work there - Do you have pics of the racks you built?

Those pics could easily be Andrew or Jamie Wyeth paintings! "Woodlot in Fall" or "House Warming" or such. I used unistrut to make some stack ends also, worked great.

Nice looking racks - I bet they’ll last longer than my pressure treated lumber racks. One question - the unistrut pieces - Why did you use them?

to make up space. I welded uprights in between each section to be able to stack two rows in each. That left a gap if that makes sense ?

Those are some pretty stacks, it's a shame you have to burn all that

Like others, my first thoughts were how awesome it looks and then, what a tremendous amount of work we put into firewood! How many cords do you figure you burn each year? What types of wood do you cut?

Of course it depends on the year but I prob go through an average of 5 if I was guessing. My daughter lives on the property south of me. And I keep them in wood as well as a elderly neighbor, sell a little too , sold probably 2-3 this year.

I cut a mix of oak , pecan, hickory and ash. Occasionally will get a few hackberry trees too. Mostly oak, 80% at least.
I am doing an experiment this year with the new rack placement to see if I can expedite cure time on some wood. Kind of geeking out on it but feel I am in good company to do that here. I will post the particulars later and would welcome any feedback.
