For the past couple of days I've been splitting and stacking some really nice red oak.
Whenever I'm near the woodpile I can smell the wood drying and I really like it.
After dinner tonight I asked the misses, "Want to walk down to to lower field and smell the woodpile?"

Probably not the most romantic thing I've ever said...

Some trees do have a nice smell to them when freshly cut.

Red Oak wouldn’t be my first choice for an aromadesiac.

Considering he posted this and disappeared, I'm going to assume the pickup line worked and he got down to splitting

Of course most members here would reply "yes" to that. Most members here would ask their significant other the same question too!

Yeah, if I don't make a cheesey comment or an innuendo after working on the woodpiles, my wife thinks somethings wrong with me. :zip:

    Exactly.

Honey locust, apple, or maybe cedar would be much more pleasant.

I guess I was feeling "Knotty".
And no, she didn't seem to care about my hard wood.

    (Ok, I'll stop now...)

But yeah, I said that last evening, and no, she didn't bother to come out and see what I had been up to all day.
I guess she's used to me dragging trees around and playing with chainsaws, and that's good enough for me. :tree:

In order to get to the root of the problem, you're going to have to spruce yourself up a bit to regain her interest. If you don't, she just may leaf you alone. Then it'll be nothing but palm tree.
