24 when I sacked out last night. 31 when I got up this morning. Looks like we may see some sunshine for a change and very welcome.
We went down to -5 earlier this morning but when I finally got up we had 13 degrees. We have some Yellow Birch and Ash going in the wood stove.
Warmed up but still a breeze out today so far. Nice and mild temp of 27 and light snow. Looks like I'll have to put the shovel down once more.
30f now and supposedly going a few degrees in the correct direction yet Currently melting down some coals from last nights 9pm load. With the warm spell today I am going to shut er down and apply the Sooteater late afternoon for a check. Started burning in Oct. so it should be interesting to see what lurks in da pipe! Probably the longest stretch I've let a cleaning go. I can usually tell if my bypass mechanism is starting to grind and I hear crunchy creo falling in the pipe if I tap/whack it. No such issues this year with 3 year seasoned fuel. Good stuff.
Temps are in the teens and falling; wind is making it miserable outside once again. Still have the light snowfall.
Been in the 30's here, dipping into the 20's at night. Winter has been a dud thus far. I've been burning mostly red oak and ash after starting the fire with cherry. I am feeling the need to get out this weekend for some cutting and hauling therapy.
Sitting at 10 now with wind but the snow has stopped. Shoveled everything 1/2 hour ago. Not much snow but enough to not want to walk or drive over it. Anyway, it wasn't bad outside, just wasn't your best "happy place"
27F and 71F with a fresh load of mixed 2 hours ago. Swept the system and collected about 3 cups of light dusty junk this afternoon. Better part of 4 month's burning. No complaints whatsoever. Running the forced air heat for a couple hours sucked
Thank you Accu yooperdave . We canceled or pizza run into Sergi's in Potsdam NY tomorrow but the wife will cook chili.
Snow showers with embedded snow squalls are expected on Friday across the North Country... Snow showers with embedded snow squalls will develop across northern New York during the mid morning hours and spread into Vermont by early to mid afternoon, as an arctic cold front moves across the region. Visibilities will drop below 1/2 mile and a quick 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible in the heavier activity. Be prepared for rapidly changing conditions, which may cause very hazardous travel with poor visibility and quickly snow covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
Enjoyed the relative warmth yesterday. Had sun all morning. Wind picked up. Got more wood on porch, ran tractor enough to get good and warmed up and also put more fuel in it. Even got the golf cart out and took some things to a neighbor. While on tractor I saw several deer. One was about 15 yards from me but showed no sign of fear. I shut the tractor off and enjoyed talking to it. Later I saw a bunch of them. Sweet!
