I bought a new Whirlpool fridge about 12 years ago...it made it 6 months past the warranty before the evaporator fan motor died...was only $30, but still! Still running fine now though.
Replaced it (overflow fridge now) with a nice used french door fridge...which quit defrosting after a couple years, board was bad...found a new/reman board that has been updated to have the common failure part beefed up, and has a good warranty to back it up...was $75 IIRC...that's still working good too.

Spent the last several weeks (couple hours at a time) stripping paint off the bathroom wall tiles that a previous resident here painted over for some unknown reason...looks much better now...that paint was looking scruffy! It would have probably been "easier" to tear it all out and start over, but I can't do a full remodel in 1 weekend like lukem does...;)  and doing a multiweek remodel of the main floor bathroom is just not an option now...so spruce up it is...just stripping that paint from the tiles and painting cabinets/trim etc...all things that I DO NOT enjoy! :headbang: Glad to be done with the stripping, but the fun isn't over yet! :hair:

Glad that remodel of our bathroom that took forever is behind us. Once you start tearing out, you know what happens. It’s good you were able to strip the tiles and call it a day.

    Miracles are easy for God
    by Pastor Mark Jeske

In some ways, bringing water to arid Southern California is one of America’s greatest engineering achievements. Over the course of many decades, government entities have spent billions of dollars to establish huge reservoirs in the mountains and hundreds of miles of aqueducts to bring enough fresh water to support a population of 15 million people in the valleys around Los Angeles.

God once did approximately the same thing in a day by simply speaking his powerful Word. He decided, as a gift, not only to keep the waterless army of the Israelites alive after they had been marching in the desert for a week, but he guaranteed them a victory over their feared Moabite enemies. The prophet Elisha told the Israelite commanders that God wouldn’t even have to break out a sweat to do it: “This is what the LORD says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink. This is an easy thing in the eyes of the LORD; he will also deliver Moab into your hands” (2 Kings 3:17,18).

Think what that means! Every molecule of matter on earth was made out of nothing by God, and he is fully capable of repeating that creative act at any time of his choosing. It’s easy for him! He just thinks of what he wants and then wills it into existence.

There are no limits to his power to take care of the needs of his believers.

Ye, that's a good idea. People say they don't make them like they used to, I don't always agree for every item, but appliances definitely. I think my mom has gone through about 3 fridges in as many years. The fridge is the housing corp's responsibility (probably why they're junk), but losing food is not good. And like you said, it's not worth replacing a compressor most times. Better off just umping it and getting a whole new one for what it costs to fix it.

We got a brand new freezer at work a few months ago, big 3 door upright. and within a week it was getting warm. When the refrigeration mechanics came in,I couldn't believe what they said after they fixed it. He listed off a ton of wires that were hooked to the wrong connecting wires, so on and so forth. Someone at the factory basically hooked nothing up where it was supposed to go and everything where it shouldn't go. Made on a Friday or Monday I guess :loco:

Well, I can't disagree with you there...reminds me of the time I walked into my neighbors house and he had a stack of bills on his coffee table, not 5 dollar bills either, mostly 50s I think. Then he told someone, maybe his girlfriend, to put it away before (someone's name I can't remember) showed up

    It is a nice spot.

Got some trim around the door now, I'll have to clean it up and paint it when the weather's fit, that'll make it a whole lot better. Mostly disguises that the door isn't perfectly straight with the garage for a couple reasons that can't really be helped

Yesterday my keyboard stopped working. Dug out laptop and it worked on some things but not all. I knew I had some old keyboards so dug one out. Did not work. Ok, I have more. Ha! I now have 4 keyboards in the trash and a new one ordered.
