Are scrounges harder to come by in your area these days?

I see a lot more wood stacks around here to, at places that have never had wood piles before.

At the same time, there's homes that have the same rounds stacked up on the edges of their yards that were "keeping the wood" instead of allowing those that would actually do the with to split it and actually get it drying for firewood use. Those rounds are probably stayinyg to rot. I see so many stacks like that. What a shame. Pretty soon they'll have a bigger mess, and I'll want nothing to do with it.

Its a common sight around here too. And i want nothing to do with them either once fungi start sprouting. Now if its black locust...whole other story!

Only shortage here is time & frost. Ground keeps thawing out & making skidding almost impossible. I'm down to just a few unprocessed cords on my log deck, so I gotta get hauling.

I have a 10 acre lot of hardwoods but theres just something about a good free scrounge. Plus I like to get some variety my lot is almost all oak and cherry. Definitely slow right now but it seems to be either feast or famine.
