My grandfather had that same Mac - was pretty liberal with oil in its older years. I remember it spraying out. He must have read the ads as he ran a Super XL for quite a while. Replaced it with an Echo he loved.
Some pretty neat old ads. I have to say I like the homelite. I have one that looks a little like the ad.
Good lookin saw! Looks like you’ve already cut down all the trees though Love Wyoming...Gods country!
I love seeing old ads like that. My father had a Mac from the 1960's. I remember it being a PITA to start. I never did cut with it.
I've got a mini mac that starts in a couple of pulls when you don't need it. Take it out for a job and it's gonna pizz you off.
Oh....it's been worked on. I was a gearhead at 9 and I doubt that it made a month before it was taken to bits.
Good for you. I did not like working on those things myself. I was a gear head myself from a young age.
Yeah I started early, dad would bring home stuff for me to disassemble else the house was in jeopardy.
My coworker just gave me an old Pioneer P28...probably not as old as these saws though...maybe? He said it was running when it went on the shelf in the garage years ago...seems like it has great compression...gonna hafta see if I can get it to blow smoke again...
My grandpa gave me a tool set when I was around 4 just to keep me out of his tools. Mom and dad were not to thrilled when I proceeded to take most of the screws out of every door knob and hinge I could reach, legs off the table, and stuck a screw driver into the electrical outlets.
