Some snow is on the horizon for us this coming weekend. One station predicted 14". I haven't seen/heard anything else regarding that amount yet though. Regardless, the temps will be cooling off and should expect some below zeros for lows.
We could use some below zeros to tighten up the lakes. We've got ice fishing in the bays, some shacks, the broads have thinner ice, I'd be cautious on the broads still.
A warm 30 outside. 69 inside. Ash. I sure enjoy this weather. Sitting in the living room in shorts and a t-shirt.
Woke up this is morning to a "blistering" 52f. This warm air happens when we get big storms right off the ocean sometimes. Burning my junky grand fir, and but little of that. Knew the storm was coming - was at the ocean yesterday just to see the big waves. Those people are standing 80' above the water, and are about to get soaked. People get knocked down, I've been there when people were hurt bad, but everybody just got wet as far as I know on this day. We got soaked too - they are looking at us and we are looking at them, kinda like the old game of chicken.
After a year and a half of hard preparation, beginning with getting cordwood on site: fairly well seasoned red/white oak, maple splits and small rounds. Temp 30 dropping to 25 by sunrise. Just tossed a few in, watched them catch, and damped it a bit. Will keep the place warm till sunrise. I like warm. So much. Sca
