Yep thats how it works. the pump seems heavy enough that it doesnt slide around much. The pto shaft isnt long enough on mine to allow retention like that.

Well the goods came this morning!!!
Got her all plumbed with minimal oil loss which was good!
Ran a couple cycles at idle to clear air and then went to full retract to see how the detent acted and to see how my pump bar would hold up. I had a piece of 3/16x 1 1/2” flat stock the went down and tested against the drawbar. A little flex like I had hoped. So I took it to full extend, gently and stalled the tractor!
Throttled up one notch and tried again this time wrapped the bar around the pump, glad I was paying attention!!!
After that I reset and added a chain with a “heavy” spring to go to the other side of the drawbar. Took to full extend gently and realized the relief valve in the control valve wasn’t relieving! Checked that and found someone had screwed it down tight!!!!
After some playing with the screw I got it functioning pretty well and split some with it at 1/4 throttle. Much faster than it used to be with the Briggs! Really happy with it!
I just have to get an extension for the shaft so I can pin it in place, since it seemed to want to walk off the tractor and I also need to figure out a better thought system for the chain keeper.

How thick is your keeper bar? 1/2”?

I got the wrong fitting for the pressure line so the straight one was just to test it out. The right one is on order.

I am at my house right now and cant go out and measure it as its at my cabin, but my guess would be at least 1/2. Let me know what you figure out for the PTO, i would like to see it. Whats your cycle time?

    I will keep you posted!
As far as cycle time I didn’t measure, but it is a whole lot faster than what it was!

Ordered a pin on pto extension this morning with a two bolt locking collar. My hopes are the shaft will go through the pump with the locking collar to hold it. Then I can just pin the pump on and off the tractors

    Update....
Got the old Briggs off and mounted the pump more securely with a chain.
Cycle time from full retract and back with the tractor at 1/4 throttle is 12 second. I usually stop it short so I don’t have to waste time with the last 6-8” so it’s actually around 9. I don’t very often have to go all the way down either, so it’s almost 4 seconds a split!
I’m happy as can be not to mention the tractor sounds soooo much nicer than that rattling angry Briggs you had to wear ear plugs with.

Fuel consumption and some big knotty stuff will be the next test!

    New parts and pieces came...
Much better! All I have to do is pull the pin and the whole assembly comes off. I may cut the shaft short so there isn’t as much sticking out..

I can't see in the picture above the video, what is preventing the pump connected to the pto shaft from twisting? It doesn't seem to be mounted solidly anywhere.

There’s a piece of flat stock that’s bolted to the side of the pump and curves down underneath it. I drilled a hole and put a chain on it and the chain goes over to the drawbar on the opposite side. The flat stock allows a bit of spring to absorb some of the shock, otherwise its solid.

This is exactly why i chose tractor driven. my kids can come up and talk to me without our brains being rattled out. Also i think people forget that since its single stage, it never slows down!!

I need to find a extension shaft like that for the PTO. where did you get that one?

    About the cheapest I found.
Tractor supply had them on the shelf but $85.

Unhooked and off to get the wagon.

Well had a little mishap yesterday.... no injuries just oil everywhere and some shredded hoses. Next time I’ll make sure I check and make sure the kids haven’t messed with the keeper chain clevis before I start...... CEFD9C75-94D0-4406-B1C1-9E29270B6C28.jpeg
