    The health care workers are the ones who are really going to take the toll from all of this. It takes a special mindset to even be in the ER or ICU, most are not hardened enough to handle the additional stain or especially the constant death that is around them now. I was a first responder in a previous life and only saw a few people die, I cannot even imagine watching it every day. I still remember my first, and my worst, and that was over 20 years ago.

    My cousin is in an ER in one of the old folks areas of southern AZ and has been working every hour he's awake since this summer. Currently not good, at best down here.

    Been in the hospital a few times the past months and couldnt imagine what your cousin has to go through everyday. Good for him helping with this mess.:yes: :cheers:

    Had to log in to like this. Understand you have family in the trenches. My daughter is a RN, trained down there at YCP. Fortunately the front lines up here are considerably easier here than others are dealing with so far, and she gets her second vaccination shot tomorrow.

    He is an absolute trooper and it is amazing. I'm just hoping he can make it through this without it breaking him, he really is a good human being trying to do well despite everyone else's best efforts.

    My niece and her SO are both LPN's at elder care facilities in the biggest city in Kansas (and no, that isn't KC) - this is taking a terrible toll on them.
