Got home this morning, cleaned up and split a few chunks of hickory and got those stored in the bin. Had a pile of big uglies that needed noodling to right size. Here are a few 0104210857.jpg
Couple cuts and they were ready for the shed 0104210908.jpg
After breakfast, we got a call for a big load of wood. Hadn't heard from him in 2 yrs, thought they didn't like what they had gotten. He said it was great wood we had brought, just a big load had taken them 2 yrs to get low enough to need more. We measured the available wood we had left, came up with .99 cord. We loaded that and we bucked and split 2 short 14-16" post oak logs, about 4 rounds and added it to the trailer. We plan on delivery Wed morning, nice 50 mile ride...:quad:...:stack:... 0104211226_HDR.jpg That takes care of our available seasoned inventory.
We have 1 truckload of 18" splits and 2 truckloads of 16" splits left, but they are spoken for.

50 mile ride? I sure hope there's a nice delivery fee included.

Looks like a beautiful day there! That’s always a good feeling when your firewood is all spoken for. I never feel like I can really focus on gathering until the old stash is gone. Those pieces of hickory look nasty. Interesting looking when they come off the splitter:rofl:  Good idea to noodle them instead:yes:

Delivery within 10 miles is included in my price. Over that, I just ask them where they live and give a price based on whether or not it's a ride that involves traffic and lights. I rarely go over 15 miles and I won't go over 20 period.

Yes sir, beautiful cool day. Have a few pieces with big knots, I split around them and got the straight pieces off, I have used the splitter on those before, just wind up with more pieces for the chunk pile. Now they can go in the shed.

    Until we can :saw::axe::stacker: more...
Already got another smaller trailer load to cut for my welder friend, paying a barter back for some repairs to the dump trailer doors...:whistle: and fixing mower deck.
Then got a call from one of our cooking customers, he wants 2 more loads, 1 cooking, 1 firewood.

My hunny was at her voting poll job yesterday, leaving me unsupervised...:loco: :binoculars:... I didn't get in trouble, I left the chainsaws alone...
But I did use saw-zall, skilsaw, maul, splitter and post driver...:hair::hair:...
Had a big oak skid I took apart and made some farwood 0105210943_HDR.jpg
Had a few end cuts from the post oak, made stove stuffer chunks in a couple years 0105210830.jpg Split the 16" round we had left and cleaned up some big splits that had termites, they don't like ethanol...:)... 0105210944_HDR.jpg Then I used the dangerous post driver.
I put up 4 T-posts and 2 more plastic pallets, used a page from buZZsaw BRAD playbook. Thanks for the idea, buddy...:handshake:...
Made a 3 side bin, stacking shorts on the front and throwing the chunks in the back, this was a big pile from the spring, some was already dry enough, probably burned 20-30 gallons this year. It will be off the ground now and dry some more. 0105211159_HDR.jpg After that I went to :sleeping::sleeping:

Thanks for the reminder. Won't be bad when we get operators back healthy.

If you're stock of seasoned is gone, will you sell partly seasoned? Is green wood used for smoking or seasoned or does it matter?

It doesn't seem to matter. He will only use a few pieces at a time. The red oak we have left to process had been down since early spring, it's mostly smaller stuff.

Those kind of pieces are never fun to deal with
