The first of the two logs gave me a bit of a hard time skidding it up the hill because it made my front end light. So I set it down and dragged it backwards since the processing area is pretty close. But this bigger one I wasn’t going to do that. I grabbed a couple more chains.

I’m not sure what it weighs but the L39 doesn’t seem to mind. 02440144-93C0-4976-A147-7A746776D23A.jpeg 333639ED-3CDC-4FD1-B26C-BBC93681B124.jpeg

Hand washed both the truck and 99's jeep this afternoon as the sun is shining and the temps above 30.

Then, took her 2019 jeep for a ride to get some gas and noticed that the odometer reads only 8,800! She got it about a year and a half ago....... so thats about 530 miles a month! :picard:

I think a trip out west may be in order!

Setting it down on some spacers to get the chains out easy.

After a quick caffeine break. Now retrieving some Ash I had cut over 8 months ago I guess. I’ll skid the log on the right out behind the backhoe back to the processing area near the house. Then I’m done for the day.

Rear chains are worth every penny.

Think about a "little giant" style ladder. I bought one-- so many styles you can set it up for, and then I bought a step to hook on anywhere on it. Says the feet from standing on the crossbars of a normal ladder. It sets up as an A frame so it doesn't lean on your walls. I only got to use it for a couple years before my fall (not from the ladder) so no longer allowed up on any ladders etc. You certainly had your work cut out for you when you made your move. Hope you getting time to enjoy it!

I'm a big fan of those style of ladders. I used my buddy's for the rafters and roofing of my wood shed. Very stable, totally adjustable.

I've done the ladder and plank for many years now. I sometimes use a ratchet strap to hold the plank to the ladder rung, but this was a simple paint job with no repairs. The ladder and plank lets me go out and get the high areas without moving anything. Set it up once and take it down. No moving it around.

The multi-ladders may be safer, but they are a lot heavier and awkward to keep moving around for one person.

The local deer herd was up on the big hill today. There was 17 spread out and some in the next field. I believe a healthy population is only a few per square mile.

A lot of cars pull over to take pics at sunset. One guy pulled completely off the road and got stuck real good about 10bfeet off the road in the mud.

The hill drains to the road and there is a wet area all along the road. He rutted up the edge of the field pretty good to try to get out. The owners now have to fix the mess. I just don't understand people that do not have respect for others property.
