So what is new, right? We were suppose to get lots of rain so I wanted to fill the bins with wood. I used the wheelbarrow to get the wood to the door but then carried it inside using my left arm. I didn't want to make lots of trips so I loaded pretty heavily. Still, I didn't think I was over doing it. That is until the pain started, and got worst. The injury is so bad that it is preventing me from breathing properly; deep breaths results in stabbing pain. It is from my left shoulder blade around to my left pectoral muscle. I don't make New Year Resolutions but I do need to start working on strengthening my muscles. Also, I am going to get some sort of wood trolley for bringing firewood into the house. So much for my plans on cutting when the weather clears.

I hope everyone's New Year is starting off better than mine.

Sorry to hear about your pain. Not the best way to start a new year.

Hopefully it was just a little muscle tweak and it goes away quickly for you.

It is pretty bad. I couldn't even drink a cup of coffee using my right hand. Funny how the muscles are all connected like that. I tried not taking any OTC pain medication yesterday because they are hard on the liver and now they are cautioning some will cause stomach bleeding.

the occasional pain meds taken usually don't do any harm. sometimes only one or two does will allow your body to relax and get the inflammation down as well as reduce the pain.

Kimberly, have you tried holding any ice on the area? Unless you have underlying issues or other medications, a couple of otc pain meds shouldn't cause much harm like Woodwidow said. You've got to get that edge taken off so you can relax and start to heal. Hopefully you haven't torn anything in there... If it's not markedly better soon, I would get some medical attention in case it's something more severe, so as to not to make it even worse. Hope you feel better soon.

I pulled a muscle once helping get a freezer out of basement, hurt to breathe deeply, in a couple of days it felt much better, but i was young then.
If I did not at least have a simple exercise program I would be a puddle of goo.

I certainly hope you feel better soon. Take care and here is a pic my wife and I took yesterday that has promise that 2021 may hold better things for all.( I've never seen one straight up and down.) You may have to zoom in on it. IMG_20210102_170840318.jpg

I put some muscle cream on the areas; the stuff that warms the area to increase blood flow.

Wow; that is nice. It has been wet and dreary the last few days; and foggy for this time of year.

My nephew got some exercise equipment for Christmas. It needs to be put together and he has no mechanical abilities; his Dad never taught him anything. When I am able, I am going to help him assemble the equipment and I plan on also using it on a regular basis. I get hurt too much; my core muscles are weak and my job has me sitting way too much. I went and got three pieces of firewood and I had to put it down at the door and recover.

Good for you Kimberly, start out slow and strive for improvement not perfection.

Because of the media and hype about leprechauns and pots of gold, we tend to forget that the rainbow is God's promise to us. When it feels like it has rained for 40 days and 40 nights and then there is a rainbow, we have to remember his promise to take care of us. with all the rain we have had over the last two weeks, I am going to be looking for the rainbow.
