We are snowing hard here now. Started around 1 am. I won’t plow until it’s done. I’d rather do it in the dark anyway , much easier to see.

    I
haven’t had to go outside yet, hard to tell here a little bit of a breeze swirls snow around the house the way it’s built. The front deck can have 3 feet on one side and bare on the other. Never hardly have to clean out in front of the garage doors for 5 feet, it’s all beside it.

Must have young eyes! I don't often go out after dark because it all looks the same to me. That and some macular degeneration and cataracts contribute to poor night vision

Ok. I'm out of excuses. I had lunch, I took the pups out. I need to get dressed to snowblow the driveway.

That stove choochin' isn't helping me want to go out.

I’m fighting off bifocals hard now Larry. It’s easy at night to see traffic coming. We have a little hill and a corner right by our house. Don’t get so much blending at night with everything being white including the sky.

Driveway and the walkways are now clear. Snowblower ran out of gas with a 10' long 1 pass left. Easy enough, the shovel made quick work of that tiny bit.

Had the pups out playing in the snow too.

Thank you! Yes he's a good looking pup. He also is the biggest lap dog ever. It's bad enough that there's 80 lbs, but by the time he's done growing, he might be 100 lbs. Who needs a weighted blanket?

I am with you on that they just need to legalize and tax it accordingly. States that do that sure she up making a lot of $$.

He's still on puppy food too. Yes, very deep chest on him. He must've gotten than from his grandpa. Dad is 75 lbs , mom is 70, but Gramps is one of those 100+ lb big black labs.

    A History of Maine Logging
Came across this today searching for something. Had to have a good laugh because some good memories are in here. Notably Comstock Woodlands camps mentioned. Harold Bouchard owned Comstock and also a good sized trucking company. My uncle drove for him for years. One year I was with my uncle about this time of year, I was probably 15 at the time. He had to go see Harold and one thing led to another and we were off to Comstock to move a loader out of the woods and back to the shop. They both liked to drink a fair amount, by the time we got there neither one was doing too good. I had my permit but no license and drove most of the way there. We get to the camp, get the truck started and thawed. Harold says to me “jump in and we will see you back in Hampden “. Mid 70s International Fleet Star with dual transmission and a prentiss loader mounted on it. Took a few miles getting out of the woods to figure out how to shift it, I’d driven them plenty but always in fields or going slow enough to not need to shift much. I made it back, never stopped for anything, luckily never got pulled over either. They stayed at the camp for the night and to deal with some business. Both those men have since passed.

I got about 6" myself.... Had to go after some food at 830 this morning and the roads were slick. Came home put stuff away and put a chicken in the oven. Went out cleaned up the drive with the tractor.. We had a early supper. Nothing to exciting. I guess more snow on the way soon. As you can see I dont even take my mower off and install the weight box the last 2 years . Has not ben a problem so far. PS.... Old picture.
