Surprise while splitting spruce

    Was splitting some nasty, knotty spruce today with the hydro and man this surprised me. Glad I didn't stab myself. I've seen bolts for hammocks and swings......but never a 3" nail!

    Poor tree guys hit this when they cut off the stump of this silver maple from a recent score. IMG_3606.JPG
    Never know what lurks inside a round. You ever hit metal with a saw LOTF?

    No, I use a metal detector and swipe ever round before I trim to size!

    Haha just kidding. Knock on wood been lucky so far. I have hidden bolts with the mail though but thankfully not the saw.

    It is amazing the things found in trees. Signs, posts, pipes, clothesline pulleys, fencing, barb wire, nails, screws, etc. Glad to see you didn’t ruin a chain
