Going through the same with my Mom, although she's in a "home", we don't have a room for her.

I like winter, but the lack of sunshine is killing me this year. No sun in the forecast until next week.

Yes, my favorite style house is a small cape cod style house. No need for a big fancy house.

Now this, I like. Not the style house I'd build either, but not bad. I'd take the windows out of the basement, there's something about that I don't like. But I like the interior of the house for the most part, and that garage.....

The tongue and groove ceiling is nice. The wood stove would be better placed in the center of the basement, but oh well. The garage/workshop looks like someone hit the lottery, or a rich uncle died.

We got 6.5" of wet heavy snow. Looks like we are getting another round of snow later this week too.

With the rain we had there is no snow left on the ground.. I kind of like it but got a little on the way soon.

It would be rather dark and depressing without the windows in the basement. At this time of year, they are probably appreciated. Nice upstairs though.

I agree. Im thinking it could get damp feeling in the basement at times also. Be nice to be able to open the windows. My opinion.

As someone who had a basement bedroom at one point, and worked second shift and slept mostly during the day, having a bedroom with no windows was fantastic.

I see where you're coming from, but as far as what it does to the exterior aesthetics, I prefer no windows. But I'm also not used to having a finished basement, my house has no basement and my immediate family have your "regular" storage and workshop type basement that you'd usually only go into to retrieve something, do laundry, or a job requiring the tools down there, so that's probably part of it

Erik B and Horkn we got around 7 inches. I was not in the picture taking mood this morning while I snowblowed before work. It turned into rain/ sleet. I did the horseshoe driveway after work. Crusty topping. Both ends by the road were a challenge. Now warming by the stove with a few beers.

Sunshine, plus palm trees usually does it for me. I don't know if that's going to happen this winter, again.... That's more depressing than anything

No pictures here either. Maybe tomorrow. The pup sure loves running and playing in the snow.
