I do quite a bit of lawncare. The side work has become more of a "main job". By necessity, I've accumulated quite a few handhelds and fossil fuel burning devices. Now with the number of saws climbing, it's getting to be a problem. I won't say how many, but my self imposed rule is one in, one out. Turns out I have the hording gene. I'm a sucker for old saws. There, got that out there. Last week, I sold two saws. So... Note the fuzzy 195 psi! A little fresh gas, snugged up the loose carb, and she fired right up. Even idled well.
Looks a bit meaner with teeth. And this vintage Oregon bar was used on a 550 cutting Eucalyptus in Northern California around 1981. The random hardware and tubing was loose in the bar oil res. the string was clogging the manual oiler tube. The auto oiler isn't working at the present. I'm thinking the tubing is too soft and simply collapsing. Is it safe to use Tygon as a replacement? Something better?
I need a 450 to go with my 550 and 650. Let me know when the next one comes in and you need to move a saw.
Gary, as the first to express an interest in the 450. You will get the first "right of refusal" should it need a new home. But for now I'm really enjoying the sweet voice she has. If she leaves, the bucking spikes & bar stay with the 550. And did you see the full wrap handle on the bay? Price seems fair enough. Think I'll keep the 450 in a half wrap though.
