So this big old Oak tree fell on my parents property probably 8 or 10 years ago I guess........time flies !! So my dad cut probably 2 years worth of firewood from the top (tops!) with his Husqvarna 257 with 20 inch bar !! Well cutting stopped when he got back to this big part :) So the tree has sat a while !! A lot of still good firewood left . The best part....an excuse to try something new....which is snag a bigger saw...with a bigger bar..and have some fun !! Along with a skid steer..wedges...and luck !! Looking forward to seeing what happens when everything comes together ! BTW..thats the lil Echo 271T......just there to do some clearing around it..as the brush grows up quickly !! Did some rough measuring.....at its fattest part...about 12 ft. 7 inches circumference . Big tree for out in the woods around here :)

I had one like that laying in my woods when I bought this place and the rounds off it were a bear to handle! Have fun with that thing I bet you will get some nice wood out of it.

Oh boy, that one's a beauty. Had one that big once - the rounds took 4 steel wedges across just to break the largest rounds in half and even then some needed fatter wood wedges to separate the halves. Great find!

Well your gonna need at least a 28" bar and a few very sharp chains. Be careful, a guy round here died messing with something like that. He was working by himself and it seems that one of the rounds shifted, rolled over trapping him, then tipped over and suffocated him. DO NOT WORK ALONE!
