That one shows it is 1.37" steel tubes. It looks like there are only 4 supports for the 17' of lenght. Mine had 6 supports for 20'. Also need to be aware of how heavy the fabric is (which I don't see on the link) as thinner stuff will rip/tear more easily. The cover on mine hasn't ripped yet - even as distorted as the frame is at this point. Last thing, is if it will be in a windy spot it will need the shoot-in style anchors and not the anchors that probably come with it.

I generally consider sub 0 temps winter. It just seems logical to me

Well, it started snowing while I came down and logged on here. I fired up, went for a walk and fed two of the neighborhood wolves dog biscuits. Got back and shoveled (pushed) snow and it was close to two inches so far. Still snowing now.

I saw the Bethlehem star early this morning. So bright it was almost flashing.

I was looking up the best time to see it and they said tonight 45 minutes after sunset will be optimal. But you can see it all this week though really. It just lines up best then.

Did you look with binoculars or a telescope? I read that if you do you'll be able to see some of the 4 moons of Jupiter.

I didn't, just caught my eye walking by the window. I was thrilled, we've had heavy cloud banks come over the mountain before sunset every day for over a week.

Soon to be Christmas. Looks like it will be a wet one for us. Not sure how we will handle it. Plans are to go to my son's home. Large open area. Plan to be stuck in one area so we can see what is going on, but not have to co mingle. I can't get around much so it should work out ok. Just ordered a portable electric wheelchair. Can't walk but 30 ft then I'm out of breath like I had run several miles. I would do better if I could get some of this lard off my arse.

Fun fact of the day ~ drinking raspberry lime seltzer while sucking on a fireball hard candy leaves an aftertaste in your mouth that's reminiscent of a very hop-infused IPA. With that out of the way, I hope everyone's enjoying their Monday night and taking it easy as we're closing in on Christmastime.

Sky is clear tonight!! Sun just went behind mountain, still light outside. A website said they will be visible for 2 more hours, though I have yet to spot it.

I'm looking south, slightly to the east, correct? Hopefully the mountain I'm near isn't blocking it.

Port De Grave, NL is a beautiful community with a small population of humans and a large population of fishing boats, and one of the few places where tourism peak season is December instead of summer. Every year the community bands together to decorate the boats for Christmas, drawing a massive amount of visitors. I took mom and a couple relatives with me yesterday, we made a smart decision by going just as it was getting dark. Arrived with enough daylight to cruise the rest of the community and get back to the docks a little before dusk, traffic was typical of a place with less than 1,000 humans. On the way out was like rush hour in the city.

also of note, the huge Christmas tree built from crab pots in the bordering community of Bareneed. The tradition is also making its way to other communities, as seen in Dildo (last picture), which doesn't have near as many boats but they're nearly all lit up this year.
