recharge time is more important than capacity and duty cycle if you're looking to actually use Air for sanding etc. My little senco hot dog compressor, blows away and I mean hands down no contest on a 30 gallon kobalt oil free compressor I have also. Heck I use the big tank as a reservoir for my senco because the kobalt just can't keep up unless I want to wait more than I work. For filling tires, light impact usage and blowing stuff off lightly the kobalt is ok. I usually end up waiting on the kobalt if I'm taking my tires off my truck. Per wheel...
Bought a snap-on 60 gal upright 3 years ago, crankshaft in the pump snapped in half after using it a very short amount, warranty ran out so i sourced a used pump and butchered it on Paying a premium doesn't always equal better/higher quality
Dealer paid half on a new pump, since then i think I've spent virtually nothing on the truck Guess after 20 years it doesn't matter how many $$ you've spent I'll express my displeasure with shopping elsewhere
Since the pandemic slowed things down my dealer has been an absolute jerk. He was always happy wen I would walk on the truck and spend hundreds at a wack now that I mostly only talk to him about warranty items he isn’t so chipper. I alway get to hear about how it’s not worth it for him anymore. If I don’t need to get something replaced I generally make sure I’m not around when he pulls in.
Ours was by on Tuesday this past week, said his sales have been above normal He has always been very good warranty wise, I've broken stuff on a weekend or evening and got things at his house With the exception of this compressor, he's alsays been good whether we buy stuff or not
Some people just don't get the value of good customer service. I believe it pays you back several times over. But then again, maybe I'm wrong about that.
Man...don't miss having a tool bill to pay...does stink having to ambush a truck to get warranty though...
I know 60 gallon is too big for you at this point. I had a 20 or 30 gallon oil-less craftsmen for awhile until water made a rust hole in the tank. I was given a horizontal 20-30 gallon portable oil-less and it's my "portable" For my shop, I needed to do some heavy sand blasting for our deck project which justified the purchase of the 60 gallon 2-stage Harbor Freight compressor (which I don't even see on their website anymore). I have been really happy with it!
Quincey's are excellant compressors. I have 2 at present 7.5cfm/60 gal and 15cfm/80gal In 25 years I have had 2 repairs between them. Couple O-rings wore out. They are used everyday - kind of like Enigizer bunnies just keep chugging away. Both of these units are some 40 + years old. For the blast cabinet I have a Westinghouse 55 cfm on a 180gal One repair on that also and I made the part, again some 40+ years old. The old iron is way better that any of the new stuff. Between the 3 of them I have about $800 invested.
I gave $150 for this a couple of years ago. 23cfm@175psi. The lp tank isn't hooked up, it just looks like it.
I have 4 of those exact same Champion compressor pumps and they sure are reliable. You will also see them under the speedair name.
This is a champion i bought as damaged freight. Wife was proud of me for buying another one. 2nd pic is after I made some changes.
Right! With the new gig company pays for tools needed. He don’t get it... I’m thinking I won’t get my pair of snap on socks he usually hands out at xmas. I hate to think about what those socks cost me.
