It's cool to see EFI make it's way over to saws. I am, however, a bit surprised by the price. I could see if this was the early 2000's and this was "new" for a two stroke/small engine. But EFI on small engines; specifically two strokes has been out for awhile....snowmobiles and outboard marine engines. Granted, air cooled two strokes with EFI are somewhat rarer. But I have to imagine the underlying tech is fairly similar.
Remaining lightweight is the biggest thing. There’s no room for multiple sensors, computers, and batteries
Well Huskihl I do not think that this cut off saw or concrete saw is anything like the electronic chainsaws.
No sir. Although the MS500i does have a few wire plugs like that one. But by the looks of it, I suppose the OP could hock the black cpu box from a TS500i and zip tie it to the top of a chainsaw if he wanted some added electrotechnological stuffs in there
My favorite saw is my ported 357. Carb and spring av. I love the 3 series. And it’s never lost a screw... stills do that too, just read along with these forums and you’ll see.
What are you talking about????????? Stihl copied the spring mounting the 3xx series have. Very smooth.
No idea what the wood is either and obviously one end had knots or something different in the grain that slowed the cut. I’ve seen several vids of the 550 beating the 261. I’d like to try a 550, or own one someday.
In that vid they appeared pretty equal. Whichever was on their left end won. But yeah, same chain is a must for as much as folks use these videos as a reference
The only online videos i really find factual are the ones from the men at Eastside Tree Works, "Guily of Treeson" You see them using many types and brands of saws, in many different conditions. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu4pT2XOGyTfnFcIUB13YZQ
No doubt. I watch a lot of them. One guy swaps bar and chain, but it’s comprised after 1st cut imo, even if it’s barkless stacked beams.
